The Quickest Way of Generating Leads

By the time a business owner asks me to help them it is usually because their business is not getting enough leads. The added problem is that because revenue is low, often I am asked to help them with generating leads for no additional cost.

Normally the method I would use to do this is search engine optimisation (SEO). This is a method of getting a website to appear high on page 1 of Google, and other search engines, for a keyword that a typical buyer would use. Unfortunately, whilst this approach can be very powerful, it takes several months to get a website onto page 1 of Google using search engine optimisation, let alone to the number 1 spot.

The answer to generating leads quickly is to run a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign on Google Adwords. I often do this to both generate much needed business for my clients and to also test several keywords to see if they are worth optimising a website for. Once a website is ranking well for its main buying keywords I scale down, or even stop, PPC campaigns.

The great thing about PPC is you can get results very quickly both good and bad. If the results are not what you were expecting you can easily change some settings, write another ad, or change your keywords and quickly see if that has improved things.
Google’s Adwords system also has very powerful targeting abilities so you can get your ads in front of just the right people or businesses. You can even display your ads on specific websites that you know your potential customers frequent.

If you are looking for a quick way of generating leads I would encourage you to take a look at pay-per-click advertising as a way of doing that. Even if you have tried it before and failed, it may have been because you did not target the right keywords, or manage your account correctly, not because PPC does not work. When set up correctly it is a very powerful way of growing a business.
